I recently purchased a watercolor painting from a thrift store. It is a scene of Central Park which is obviously located in New York. At the corner of the painting on the right side, it says the artist’s name but I can not figure out the last name. His first name is John…. but the his last name starts with an Hoy (what appears to be "oy")… and i can’t read the last couple of letters. The middle part of his name is a bit blurry but I think his last name ends with the letters, "san".
thanks.
Does anyone know of an artist who paints watercolor scenes of New York?

You need to go to an appraiser…there are a lot of artists in the world…what time period is this? 1900? 1950? 2008? Identifying that would help. Being good at what you do-doesn’t mean you’re listed in Who’s Who of American Artists..or even mean another artist will have heard of you even if you’re good. Find an appraiser-one that specializes in Fine Art. No one can tell from here what you have-or even if it’s original art. Some one WHO KNOWS has to look at it. Start by looking in your phone book.
