How to break into the Art World?

When I was young I started drawing Comic book characters and studying art theory books and "how to draw comic book heros" books and the sort. As I grew I began finding my own style.

Today I have a small collection of finish projects that I have mounted and hanging around the house (my parents house). I am studying art in college start this coming fall. I would like to begin showing my art but have no idea how to break into the art world. Any help would be great! Thanks!

start by going to art shows and rubbing elbows with people who show up there because they most likely have an interest in art or at least the food they serve at openings. lol if you get a bite offer to show a small portfolio of your best stuff to them at some time in the future that suits THEIR schedule. Get a website or join one that will allow you to show work on line then post your best work there. Google art shows that ask for submissions and send in your work the more you do that the better your chances of getting shown and starting a list of shows you have been in and a client list that own your work. Donate a piece to a nonprofit auction that wants art and talk with whoever bits the highest for it that also gets your name around. do no wait for something to happen getting into the art market is strictly proactive you gotta do it for yourself.

    good luck

if you ever want to chat about how it is going I am a former art prof and will talk to anyone who wants motivated to become a working artist. go for it
